    Official Rules

    NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. INTERNET ACCESS & E-MAIL ADDRESS REQUIRED.

    The Wrangler "Don't Call Me Jean" Contest ("Contest") is open only to women, sixteen (16) years** or older, as of date of entry, who are legal residents of the U.S. (excluding Hawaii, Puerto Rico and U.S. territories) or Canada (excluding Quebec); Contest is void in all other jurisdictions and where prohibited by law. Void in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories and Quebec. Employees, officers and directors [and the immediate family members (parents, children, siblings, spouse) wherever they may live and others living in the same household (whether related or not) of such employees/officers/directors] of Wrangler, a division of VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership ("Sponsor"), its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, their advertising, promotion or production agencies, or other entities that manufacture or import apparel products (including but not limited to jeans) are not eligible to enter or win prizes.

    **(Notwithstanding the above, due to state legal restrictions, residents of Maine must be eighteen (18) years or older, as of date of entry, to participate in the Contest. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENTER THE CONTEST IF YOU ARE A MAINE RESIDENT AND 16 OR 17 YEARS OF AGE.)

    1. CONTEST PERIOD. Contest starts on October 30, 2009 at or about 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time (ET) and ends on November 20, 2009 at 11:59:59 PM ET.

    2. TO ENTER.

    A. Go to the contest homepage at welcome.wrangler.com/dontcallmejean, OR, you may also access the Contest homepage by clicking on a banner ad or link on www.Facebook.com {Facebook, Inc. has not endorsed, sponsored or authorized this Contest.} OR, if you received an e-mail from Sponsor regarding the Contest, click on the link in the e-mail to access the Contest homepage.

    B. Complete the Contest entry form with your contact information (your first and last name, complete address, e-mail address, birth date and daytime and evening telephone numbers) and input in the text box your suggestion for a new name for Wrangler's juniors jeans; the name will be "_____ by Wrangler" ("Name Suggestion"). You will be asked whether you want to receive e-mail updates from Sponsor and, if so, the format for such e-mail updates. But, agreeing to receive such e-mail updates is optional and is NOT required to participate in the Contest; nor will your agreement (or failure to agree) to receive such e-mail updates in any way affect your participation or ability to win prize(s) in the Contest. Check the box indicating that you have read, fully understand and agree to these Official Rules; if this box is NOT checked, you will NOT be able to submit an entry. (If you are a minor in your jurisdiction of residence, you are advised to obtain your parent/legal guardian's permission before entering the Contest.) ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY NOVEMBER 20, 2009 AT 11:59:59 pm ET. Limit one (1) entry (including one (1) Name Suggestion) per person or e-mail address. Use of any apparatus, device or artifice to submit multiple entries/Name Suggestions will result in such participant (also referred to herein as entrant) being disqualified, with all entries/Name Suggestions being declared void.

    C. Requirements for Name Suggestion. Name Suggestion cannot exceed ten (10) characters. Name Suggestion must be solely and completely the original work of participant. Assistance from any other party is prohibited. COPYING THE WORK OF OTHERS IS PROHIBITED AS WELL. No joint/group entries/Name Suggestions. Partial or piecemeal entries will NOT be accepted; entry must be completed in one (1) single on-line session. Receipt of entries will be acknowledged by Sponsor; however, such acknowledgement does not constitute a representation by Sponsor of eligibility of one's Contest entry. Submission of entries/Name Suggestions via any method other than as set forth herein is prohibited and such attempted entries are void. Name Suggestion cannot include any content not owned, licensed or otherwise lawfully used by participant; if Sponsor, in its sole discretion, suspects that a Name Suggestion does not comply with this requirement such that it may violate or infringe upon the intellectual property or other rights of any third party (including but not limited to rights of publicity, privacy, trademark, copyright, or libel, defamation or slander), participant will be disqualified and Sponsor may take any other action it deems appropriate and necessary in its sole discretion so as to protect its rights. Participant will also be disqualified if Sponsor determines, in its sole discretion, that the Name Suggestion is intended to promote a commercial/business enterprise, a charity, political, religious cause or any cause other than the Contest theme (new name for Wrangler's juniors jeans). Name Suggestion must not have been previously published or submitted to another competition or contest. Entries will also be disqualified if Sponsor determines in its sole discretion that Name Suggestion is inappropriate, profane or unfit for publication; by way of example only, use of vulgar words, racial epithets as Name Suggestions or advocacy of drug use or other illegal conduct in Name Suggestions will result in disqualification. In the event of disqualification, no relief or remedy will be available to disqualified individual and Sponsor shall have no liability to disqualified individual.

    3. DETERMINATION OF WINNERS.

    A. Initial Round Judging. Name Suggestions will be evaluated by a panel of expert judges, comprised of individuals who are in the brand development, advertising and marketing departments of VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership. Taking into account the age of the entrant, judges' evaluation of entrants' Name Suggestions will be based upon the following criteria: (1) originality and creativity (33 1/3%); (2) compatibility of Name Suggestion with Wrangler's juniors jeans brand image (33 1/3%); (3) appreciation and popularity of Name Suggestion by core audience for Wrangler's juniors jeans (33 1/3%). The entrants with the top (5) scores for their Name Suggestions are Finalist Prize winners and will advance to the Final Round Judging. In the event of a tie, the entrant whose Name Suggestion had the higher/highest score in appreciation and popularity of Name Suggestion by core audience for Wrangler's juniors jeans will be deemed the Finalist Prize winner. Those selected as Finalist Prize winners will be notified by Sponsor by e-mail, phone or postal mail after December 31, 2009.

    B. Final Round Judging. The Finalist Prize winners' Name Suggestions will be presented to focus groups by the Wrangler brand research team of VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership in a controlled environment in roughly the same manner in which other proposed brand names are presented to focus groups for preliminary evaluation of their popularity and marketability. The focus group will have a substantially similar amount of time to review and analyze each of the five (5) presented Name Suggestions based on specific guidelines provided by Sponsor's representatives. (Such guidelines shall be the same for review/analysis of all five (5) presented Name Suggestions.) The Finalist whose Name Suggestion has the highest rating by the focus groups (among the five [5] Name Suggestions presented) will be the winner of the Grand Prize, subject to verification and full compliance with these Official Rules. In the event of a tie, the focus groups will be asked to re-evaluate the tied Name Suggestions in the same manner as outlined above, with this process continuing until a favorite Name Suggestion is determined. Grand Prize winner will be notified by mail, phone or postal mail after January 20, 2010.

    4. PRIZES.

    A. Finalist Prizes (five (5)) - one (1) pair of Wrangler® juniors jeans. Approximate Retail Value: $60 (USD) each. Size of Wrangler jeans subject to availability; other restrictions may apply.

    B. Grand Prize (one (1)) – trip for the winner to VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership corporate headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina in 2010, where winner will brainstorm with Wrangler® advertising, marketing and consumer research professionals about her Name Suggestion. Approximate Retail Value: $1000 (USD). Trip consists of roundtrip coach air transportation between major commercial airport near winner's residence (of Sponsor's sole choosing) and Greensboro; ground transportation between Greensboro airport and hotel; standard, double occupancy hotel accommodations for 2 days/1 night.

    5. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS.

    A. Grand Prize. Winner must be able to travel on dates of Sponsor's sole choosing so as to visit VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership corporate headquarters in 2010 (actual travel dates to be provided to winner at time of prize notification); if winner is unavailable at such time for any reason, Grand Prize will be forfeited without compensation and an alternate winner selected (the alternate winner being the Finalist Prize winner whose Name Suggestion was ranked next highest in the Final Round Judging by the focus groups as per Rule 3B above). Grand Prize winner (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, winner's parent/legal guardian) will be required to complete and sign an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release and (where lawful) a publicity release within indicated time period. Noncompliance with this requirement will result in forfeiture of Grand Prize without compensation (other than the Finalist Prize, which may be retained) and an alternate winner being selected. If Grand Prize winner is a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, winner's travel guest must be her parent/legal guardian. Brainstorming with Wrangler® advertising, marketing and consumer research professionals has no cash value, will be limited in duration and is subject to other conditions set by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Grand Prize winner agrees at all times to conduct herself in a courteous, respectful and appropriate manner, following all instructions of Sponsor representatives. Should Sponsor determine, in its sole discretion, that winner has not conducted herself properly, then Sponsor may terminate the trip immediately without warning to winner or liability to winner. Trip is subject to availability and certain other restrictions. Valid government-issued identification is required for air travel; if Canadian resident wins Grand Prize (or if guest of Grand Prize winner is Canadian), a passport is required for international travel. Winner and guest must travel on same itinerary as set by Sponsor in its sole discretion. If winner's residence is within approximately 150 miles of Greensboro (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), winner will receive ground transportation between her residence and hotel in lieu of air transportation and will not receive any compensation in conjunction with such substitution. Guest (if a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, his/her parent or legal guardian) must complete and sign a liability release and publicity release (where lawful), prior to issuance of travel documents. If guest is a minor, he/she may only accompany his/her parent or legal guardian (i.e., the winner) on trip. Actual value of trip depends on point of departure, airfare fluctuations and other factors and winner will not receive difference between approximate retail value and actual value of trip.

    B. Additional Restrictions on Prizes. If won by a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, prize may be awarded to or in the name of her parent/legal guardian, in Sponsor's sole discretion. Return of prize notification as undeliverable for any prize will result in disqualification and forfeiture of such prize (without compensation), with an alternate winner being selected; for Finalist Prizes, the alternate winner will be the entrant with the next highest ranked Name Suggestion in the Initial Round Judging as per Rule 3A above. Limit one (1) Finalist Prize per family/household/e-mail address. Taxes on prize(s), if any, are the sole responsibility of prize winner. Winner's receipt of prize(s) will be reported to appropriate governmental authorities in accordance with applicable law. All unspecified expenses and costs associated with acceptance and use of prize(s) are winner's sole responsibility. Prizes may not be redeemed or exchanged for cash by winner. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to award a substitute prize/prize component of equal or greater value if advertised prize/prize component is unavailable for any reason. No prize transfer.

    6. NAME SUGGESTION AS "WORK MADE FOR HIRE". By creating and submitting a Name Suggestion, participant (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, her parent/legal guardian) understands and agrees that the Name Suggestion shall be deemed a "Work Made For Hire" under the copyright laws of the United States, the Name Suggestion being specially prepared by participant for Sponsor. If the Name Suggestion is deemed not to constitute a "Work Made For Hire," participant (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, her parent/legal guardian) agrees, in exchange for good and valuable consideration in the amount of one dollar ($1.00), to transfer and assign any and all rights, title, and interest in and to the Name Suggestion to Sponsor, including but not limited to the copyright and renewal rights in the Name Suggestion, worldwide, and to execute all documents and take all actions deemed necessary by Sponsor to effect, record or perfect such assignment. To the fullest extent permitted by law, participant (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, her parent/legal guardian) hereby waives in favor of Sponsor, all rights of "Droit Moral" or "Moral Rights of Authors" or any similar rights that participant (and her parent/legal guardian, if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence) may now or later have in and to the Name Suggestion.

    7. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES/RELEASES

    A. Participant (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, her parent or legal guardian) agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor and the judges (including the focus groups, as applicable), which are final and binding in all respects and not subject to appeal.

    B. Participant (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, her parent/legal guardian) releases and agrees to hold harmless VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership, its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, promotion/marketing agencies and the directors, officers, agents, shareholders, representatives, employees, successors and assigns of any of the above entities, from any and all liability associated (directly or indirectly, in whole or in part) with her participation in the Contest, her participation in any Contest-related activity and receipt, acceptance, possession or use/misuse of prize(s).

    By accepting prize(s), where permitted by law, winner (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, her parent/legal guardian) grants Sponsor the right to print, publish, broadcast and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the world wide web, at any time or times, the winner's name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness and biographical information as news or information and for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without additional compensation, and without review, approval or further notice.

    8. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY.

    A. PRIVACY NOTICE. Sponsor collects personal data when you enter this Contest. Entering the Contest constitutes your permission (if you are a minor in your jurisdiction of residence, your parent/legal guardian's permission) for Sponsor and its affiliated companies to maintain the data in the U.S. The data is collected to maintain a record of those who have entered the Contest, to administer the Contest and to contact potential winners.

    B. NOTHING HEREIN REPRESENTS AN OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT TO FINALIST PRIZE WINNERS OR GRAND PRIZE WINNER. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GRAND PRIZE WINNER AND SPONSOR IS THAT OF INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS.

    C. Entrants (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, her parent/legal guardian) understand and agree that Sponsor is under no obligation to use Name Suggestion and Sponsor will have no liability for such non-use of Name Suggestion, even if an entrant submitting same has been selected as a Finalist Prize winner or the Grand Prize winner. Should Sponsor elect to use Name Suggestion, Sponsor's liability will be limited to award of a prize to entrant if applicable (and/or one dollar ($1) should the Name Suggestion be deemed not to be a "Work Made For Hire") and Sponsor shall have the option, exercisable at its sole discretion, to attribute the Name Suggestion to entrant in the following manner: First Name, Last Initial; City, State/Province.

    D. The judging procedure, as set forth in Rule 3, will take place at or near Sponsor's offices in Greensboro, North Carolina. Sponsor's computer is the official clock for all purposes of the Contest. No responsibility is assumed by Sponsor for lost, late, incomplete, irregular, damaged, misdirected, corrupted or illegible entries/Name Suggestions; or for any computer, telephone, cable, satellite, network, electronic or Internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, availability or garbled or jumbled transmissions, programming errors/flaws, service provider/Internet/web site/use net accessibility or availability, traffic congestion or unauthorized human intervention which interferes or corrupts the operation of the Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for any incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate information, whether caused by web site users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest and assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to the Contest web site. Sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to participants' or any other person's computer (or any information/data stored thereon) related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading/uploading materials from/to the Contest web site.

    E. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds, in its sole discretion, to be tampering or attempting to tamper with any aspect of the entry process, the operation or administration of the Contest or the Contest web site. The preceding does not in any way preclude Sponsor from taking other actions deemed necessary and appropriate in its sole discretion so as to protect its rights.

    F. Force Majeure. If, for any reason, the Contest (or any part thereof) is not capable of running as planned by reason of infection by computer virus, worms, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, fire, flood, storm or other natural cataclysm, riot, strike, civil commotion, governmental regulation or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor which, in the sole opinion of Sponsor, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest (or any part thereof), Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and conduct the Contest and select prize winners in a manner which is fair, equitable and in accordance with these Official Rules, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Notice of such action by Sponsor will be posted on the Contest web site.

    9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION/GOVERNING LAW/WAIVER OF JURY TRIAL

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, by participating in the Sweepstakes, you (if a minor in your jurisdiction of residence, your parent/legal guardian) agree that: (a) any action at law or in equity arising out of or relating to these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of any participant (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, participant's parent/legal guardian) and/or VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership, shall be filed exclusively in the courts of the State of North Carolina, USA and you (if a minor in your jurisdiction of residence, your parent/legal guardian) hereby consent and submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of such courts for the purposes of litigating any such action (and expressly waive any right of change of venue, forum non conveniences or any like right), AND ANY RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY AND A TRIAL BY JURY IS HEREBY WAIVED, (b) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with these Official Rules, and/or the rights and obligations of any participant (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, participant's parent/legal guardian) and/or VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and (c) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred (if any), including costs associated with participating in this Sweepstakes but in no event attorneys' fees; and (d) under no circumstances will any participant (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, participant's parent/legal guardian) be permitted to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, exemplary, special, incidental, indirect and consequential damages and any other damages (whether due to negligence or otherwise), other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of any participant (if a minor in her jurisdiction of residence, participant's parent/legal guardian) and/or VF Jeanswear Limited Partnership, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA without giving effect or regard to any principles or doctrines of conflicts of law/choice of law of the State of North Carolina, USA or of any other jurisdiction.

    10. WINNERS' LIST. For the names of winners (requests must be received by November 20, 2009), send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Wrangler ATTN: MARKETING DEPARTMENT/DON'T CALL ME JEAN WINNERS, 400 North Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27430-1488. Residents of Canada may omit return postage. Winners' first name and last initial and city and state of address may also be posted on the Contest web site.
